Guest guest
- Hare Krsna Has anyone ever wondered how they train a mounted horse ? Consider a mounted horse in a parade where there are bugles being blown, streamers are being thrown, flags are being waved and crowds of people are travelling in every direction .How is it that the horse does not freak out and charge off risking it's rider and it's own safety ? The answer is training .The horse is first exposed to every type of stimuli outside the parade situation. Persons wave flags in it's face ,blow horns in it's ears , approach it from behind etc. while the horse trainer stands with the horse restraining it,patting it's back, speaking in it's ear and feeding it . In this way by taking shelter of it's master the horse learns to retain mental equanimity through all types of external stimuli. So when we come to Krishna consciousness we have to expect maya to challege us with all sorts of external stimuli that could cause us to lose our mental equilibrium .By accepting the instruction of bona fide Spiritual Authorities and honouring Krsna prasadam the aspiring devotee can then keep his mental balance , his position in devotional service and learn the lessons that Krsna is teaching one even through the most disorienting of experiences.
