Yep, he said it in a conversation during last months. During the last half a

year or so he said many many things (especially about Srila Prabhupada) that

might or might not have anything to do with reality. If you read his

offering to Srila Prabhupada from 1980, you will see that at that time he

remembered that after rising Prabhupada was chanting for an hour or more. He

also used to remember that Prabhupada was sometimes chanting during the

morning walks. Nowadays he had cut the time to "no more than a half an

hour."

 

There are many other points like this, but there is no need to list them

here. I just want to say that to quote this particular statement as some

kind of proof is misleading.
