Guest guest
> Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu said that are five things forbidden in kali yuga > sannyas one of them is sannyas. Why Srila Prabhupada had been giving > sannyas? Could somebody answer my question? Good question. The basis on which karma sannyas is rejected in Kali Yuga is the verse from BV Purana, Krsna Janma Khanda 4.115.113: asvamedham gavalambham sannyasam pala-paitrikam deverena sutotpattim kalau panca vivarjayet All the other four items prohibited in this verse for Kali Yuga fall in the category of karma-kanda activities. So the acaryas have explained that karma sannyas is the type of sannyas prohibited in this verse. Now there are three kinds of sannyas mentioned in the scripture (Padma Purana, Svarga Khanda): jnana-sannyasinah kecid-veda-sannyasino 'pare karma-sannyasi-nas-tvanye trividhah parikititah There are three kinds of sannyasa: karma-sannyasa, jnana-sannyas (of the jnanis or impersonalists) & vedic-sannyas (tridandi sannyas of the Vaisnavas glorified in many scriptures. So Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu himself took ekadandi-sannyas (i.e jnana-sannyas) and Bhaktisiddhanta introduced the tridnadi Vedic-sannyas both of which are allowed in Kali yuga. So Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta & Srila Prabhupada are strictly following the scriptures in this regard. I hope this helps.
