Is very sad to hear about your friend. There are too many devotees in the same situation, all over the world. It is a pitty. I heard some times, that Srila Prabhupada preach that when the cow is thirsty we can take her where the water is, but the cow itself must drink, in your case is exactly the opositte. Your friend don't want to drink the water of the knowledge, so what can you do? Just visit him and give him Prasadam, better Maha-prasadam if you can get any. Then Lord Krsna will give the result. He is the controller. Hope this helps you ys, Sridhari devi dasi

Guest guest
> I have a devotee friend that is deeply in maya, and I try to preach to him, >but he seems so "thick skinned" that nothing gets to him, no matter how many >sastric quotes I give him.The problem is he has become a grhamedhi, and he >really fits the catagory of SB 7.5.30. I know this is tough to watch, especially when it's a friend and when s/he was previously living a more devotional life. It may be tempting to try to convince through logic and reason, to provide quotes etc. However, chances are he already knows those and that this knowledge is not what is lacking. For whatever it's worth, my advice would simply be to make sure he also (again) gets to experience the *sweetness* of Krsna Consciousness; festivals, prasadam, kirtanas etc. He needs to again get a taste, so he'll be *willing* to give up some of his habits that are incompatible with spiritual life. I'd keep the preaching about sinful activities, hellish consequences etc. to a minimum (I'm not saying you're doing that) and just do everything I could to present the attractive part of spiritual life. Seeing you blissfully serving in KC could also be a powerful motivator. If he sees how happy you are in KC, he'll want to have what you have. Just my 2 cents. ys, Madhusudani dasi
Guest guest
Well the latest development is that after a discussion we had on wedensday, is that he says he is aware that he is in maya and will work on himself to improve. He wants to read Bhaktivikas Swamis Brahmacari book, and he hopes this will motivate him to stop being so lusty. YS Payonidhi das So today I am lending him that book.Lets see what happens
