Guest guest Posted March 4, 1999 Report Share Posted March 4, 1999 Dear Prabhu PAMHO AGTSP I agree with most of your presentation.But ekadandi sannyasa is not a bonafide system, it was introduced by Sankacarya.The jiva can never become God.Lord Caitanya accepted this sannysa of ekadandi in order to mingle with and preach to the mayavadis, like Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya , Prakasananda Sarasvati and then save them into vaisnavism. Neither the path of Jnana or karma is usefull in Kali Yuga,and thus the sannyasa in these branches is not accepted as bonafide,only Tridandi sannysa is accepted. There is some very interesting things to read about sannyasa in Srila Prabhupadas books and lectures.SB. 1.6.13,SB 4.19.22,SB 4.25.39, SB 8.2.30 Adi lila2.5, BG 16.1-3, all in the purports.Lectures SB 1.2.10 December 1972,SB 1.8.18-19 Bombay april 1971.And there is many more. In the SB 8.2.30 purport Srila Prabhupada explains that most people are not spiritually strong to be sannyasis. We have personally seen so many thing in the name of sannyasa that are bhogus.Obviously it is forbidden for a sannyasi to have massage from a woman,watch x movies, engage in illicit sex or even be alone with a women in a room.Nectar of instructions vers one purport also clearly defines the importance of controlling the senses.Also it should be mentioned that sannyasa is not inactivity,but action in KC.To be advocating womens equal rights is also against sannyasi life,or to indulge in any kind of female association.We have once met a Swami that called his female disciple for beautifull, when she in fact was chasing brahmacaries, such behavior is highly irreligious.
