Haribol, prabhu; may I suggest that you are reading _way_ too much into that letter? The line in question says only, "Formerly we were with Krishna in his lila or sport." It doesn't say "prior to falling in the material world" -- it only says "Formerly." "Formerly" can mean even while we are entangled in the material world; recall the verse "namaH parasmai puruSAya bhUyase / sad-udbhava sthAna nirodha lilayA..." which indicates that even the activities of creation, maintenance, and destruction of the material universe are part of Krishna's lilas. Incidentally, I think that Steward Hill needs to learn some Nettiquette -- it is strongly inadvisable to post more text to a forum than the rs are willing or able to read in a given amount of time. 20+ messages of 5000+ lines total is quite unacceptable from a single person in a given day.
