Frankly, I do not to this sort of reasoning. ISKCON devotees frequently argue that only ISKCON publications are "bona fide." What a convenient position to take, since from such a standpoint they can then arbitrarily reject any evidence presented from a non-ISKCON source. But I will say this about the Gaudiya Math translation of Jaiva Dharma - we don't have the original Bengali, and thus without it we just have to trust the translators. I would prefer that the original verses be quoted to us along with the translation, so that way at least we can have our Sanskritists/Bengali speakers analyze them. But without such evidence, I am reluctant to base my entire understanding of fall or no-fall on this translation alone.
