Guest guest
Dear Bhakta Branko, Namonamaha. Jaya Srila Prabhupada! Read your posting here; > Hare Krishna! > > PAMHO. AGTSP. Does anyone know the name of the holy place where Sandipani > Muni lived while he was instructing Sri Krishna and Sri Balarama as a > guru? > > Thank you > ys > bh. Branko The name of the place at present is "Ujjain" and it is located in the Madhya Pradesh province/state here in India. About 350/400 kilometers from Baroda. The ancient name of Ujjain is "Avanti". That is mentioned in the 10th Canto of Srimad Bhagavatam. This is the same Avanti that is mentioned in the 11th Canto as well by Lord Krishna when he describes the determination of the miserly old brahamana who takes sannyas & becomes detached from maya. Hope this helps you. dasanudas, Basu Ghosh Das ISKCON-Baroda, Gujarat, India
