There is a story from Padma Purana about Devasharma and Candrasharma. There

was a bramana named Devasharma, who had one daughter named Gunavati and one

disciple called Candrasharma. He married his daughter to Candrasharma and

lived together with him in Haridwar, which is considered as Visnu-ksetra. One

day they went to the forest to collect some wood for the sacrifice when one

demon came and killed both of them. They went to Vaikuntha and because they

were both worshipers of the sun god, later on Devasharma became Satrajit and

Candrasharma became Akrura. Satrajit had the Syamantaka-mani from the sun god

whom he worshiped in his last life, and Akrura was his friend because of that,

and he also had the Syamantaka jewel for some time. After that Gunavati

worshiped Lord Visnu for the rest of her life.

When she was very old one day she went to take a bath, fell down in the river

and died. At that time she was carried to Vaikuntha because she had performed

Ekadasi vrata her whole life, worshiped Lord Visnu and Tulasi Devi. Therefore

she got the chance of becoming Satyabhama, the daughter of Satrajit who was

her father in the previous life.

Satyabhama asked Krsna, 'How did I get the chance to become Your wife? What

did I do in my past life?' So Lord Krsna was narrating this story. They were

very religious all their life and they died in Haridwar so they went to Lord

Hari's planet - not because of their worship of Surya.
