please accept my most humble obeisances.all glories to Srila Prabhupada!

 

The following is a continuation of the life history of Sripada

Ramanujacarya.

SEVENTEENTH CHAPTER

 

Ramanujacarya reaches Sri Rangam

 

 

When Ramanujacarya reached Srirangam he saw the pure river Kaveri.He at

once took bath in it along with his disciples.After having taken bath,he

sat on the banks of the Kaveri and applied his tilak markings chanting the

prescribed

mantras.The devotee singer Araiyar ,who had actually got Ramanujacarya

for Lord Ranganatha went ahead of Ramanujacarya in order to tell Lord

Ranganatha of his arrival.When the Lord heard that His mission of bringing

Ramanujacarya was successful by the efforts of Araiyar ,He immediately

presented him with many gifts,very happily.

 

Lord Ranganatha welcomes Ramanujacarya

After that, Lord Ranganatha told Periyanambi ," Please go along with all

types of gifts ,golden umbrellas and camaras and welcome

Ramanujacarya.Also take along with you those vaishnavas who sing My

glories spotlessly.In this way please welcome Srila Ramanujacarya and

bring him to Me."Accepting the Lord's words, Periyanambi went as told and

brought Ramanujacarya.When Sripad Ramanujacarya came

inside Srirangam ,all the vaishnavas and people who had assembled

there offered their obeisances by falling flat on the ground.Ramanujacarya

,along with his disciples offered his respects to Periya nambi and every

vaishnava of Srirangam.

 

The Lord personally welcomes Ramanujacarya

Ramanujacarya,who was celebrated by all the vaishnavas followed his

spiritual master and entered the temple of Sri rangam which was surrounded

by seven great walls.After having properly paid his obeisances to all

deities like Vishvaksena,Ramanujacarya reached the main mantapa.At that

timne Lord Ranganatha came swiftly to welcome Ramanujacarya.Seeing that

the Lord Himself had come to welcome him,Ramanujacarya was surprised and

asked the Lord," My dear Lord !I am your servant.So it is not good that

You personally come to welcome me".

 

The Lord replies

Hearing his words the Lord replied," Dear Ramanuja ! you have come such a

long distance to see Us.It is good if we come a few steps in order to see

you.O Yatiraja! so far I was protecting all living entities personally.Now

i would like to take rest.Please hear my words.O lokaguru! Please do all

your activities with happiness and give shelter to all living entities

,thus executing my orders.I have already granted you this right to give

Myself and My kingdom to anyone you wish.So,please therefore live in my

Abode of Sri rangam temple,taking care of my devotees and thus satisfying

me.Please do whatever you feel is proper for you ".Having told this The

Lord gave Ramanujacarya the title " VIBHUUTHI DVAYA NAYAKA" .
