Is vanilla ice-cream Ekadasi-compatible?

Not all vanilla ice creams. Around here it's just the "French vanilla"

that has eggs.

I don't know whether it's Ekadashi-compatible or not but note that some

ice-cream especially in Australia, made by Streets for example, has gelatine.

Also be on the lookout for food codes like 471, 322. Know what they mean.

The best vanilla ice cream (based on the opinion of numerous Vaishnavas in

Central Pennsylvania)is the one made from the Higher Taste recipe.

It tastes much better than Breyers, is Ekadasi safe, can be made without an

ice cream machine and everyone is happy!

Thanks for the info. I was avoiding the ice-cream on Ekadasi because of the

black little specs I saw in them (vanilla beans).

 

What about mustard seeds? Are they eatable on Ekadasi?
