Guest guest
Hare Krishna. > What about mustard seeds? Are they eatable on Ekadasi? Prabhupada never mentioned them. He only said "No grains or beans on Ekadasi." Mustard seeds are neither a grain nor a bean, so by that rubrick they should be OK. Some devotees avoid them on Ekadasi, and the ISKCON deity worship manual also says to avoid them -- of course, that's the *deity worship* manual, not a guide to everyday Vaisnava life. So you just have to ask yourself, how strict do I want to be on this point. In my opinion, if you are determined to be really strict on Ekadasi, then the best thing is to go Nirjala, no food, no water, nothing. But you have to decide for yourself.
