Guest guest
Dear devotees, Something has been troubling my mind for some time re the addressing of the great devotee of Lord Nrsimhadeva as "bhakta Prahlada" which is sometimes done when finishing the Nrsimhadeva prayers. I checked on folio and sure enough, there is no mention of "bhakta Prahlada" in the sense of addressing him directly. There is one quote in the Narada Bhakti Sutra in chapter 4 "Pure & Mixed Devotion", sutra 71, where it states: "When Lord Nrsimhadeva rescued His dearmost bhakta, Prahläda, from his demonic father, Prahläda Mahäräja asked that his father be excused and not punished in the next life for his heinous crimes.' However, again he is not being addressed directly, but referred to as the Lords dearmost "bhakta". His title "Prahlada Maharaja" which can be found 1,870 times throughout Srila Prabhupada's books, would appear to be the appropriate means of addressing this most exalted devotee. Your comments would be welcomed. Yours in the service of Srila Prabhupada, Prananatha das (BSDS)
