You can also write to Mukunda Goswami. He found out the original book with

this quotation in some library in Britain, where it had been sent by

Bhaktivinode Thakur himself 100 years ago. He often quoted this statement by

BVT, so might well be the one to know the exact source of the statement and

its correct wording.

 

BTW, knowing which books Bhaktivinoda Thakur sent to the West could give you

a clue to the source, or at least substantially narrow the range of your

search.
