I believe a lot of this obsession with the uttama guru is simply extended false

ego.

It seems that if we can claim our guru is the beshtest of them all, then we

must be the besht, too. Life appears much simpler when we feel we can avoid

dealing with our painful personal difficulties.

 

Ultimately, the guru is not meant to become an excuse for us to avoid

resolving our personal issues with Krsna.

It seems to me that if someone wishes to peacefully work within ISKCON, one

must within his heart be able to place Srila Prabhupada as his primary siksa

relationship. Even as grand-disciples, it would seem our faith is based on the

idea that the senior men are preaching based on Prabhupada's teachings and

example.

 

Srila Bhaktisiddhanta is certainly our common ancestor with regards to the

Gaudiya Math sadhus, but he is not our common ancestor as the founder/acarya

of our ISKCON institution. I am not of the opinion that Krsna is found only in

this particular institution, but none-the-less, I personally relish it's

exclusive loyalty to Srila Prabhupada's perspective.
