Guest guest
Pamho. AGtSP Give me, oh Lord, patience to tolerate what is my destiny courage to vanquish adversity and to put order and the intelligence to decide between both options I have heard many times this verse from members of the hindu community, but never read it in Srila Prabhupada´s books. It is bonafide? Somebody knows? Ys BPD

It is bonafide? Somebody knows? Sounds like a version of the first part of the"serenity prayer" that is used by AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) and others. It goes: GOD, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. It was written by Reinhold Neibuhr in 1926 The last 4 verses of the prayer are: Living ONE DAY AT A TIME; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardship as the pathway to peace. Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it. Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life, and supremely happy with Him forever in the next. Or maybe it was Marcus Aurelius. Sorry, my memory is good but short. But I distinctly remember it was a very old prayer. It might have been used for the AA prayer.
