Guest guest
>>"Mahaprabhu established the yuga-dharma through nama-sankirtana. >>He did it throught the medium of Mahavisnu, Narayana, Nrsimhadeva >>and other avataras, all of whom were contained within Himself." Haribol Prabhus, This is an interesting question. This statement, imho, is not unreasonable and does not diminish Srila Prabhupada's greatness at all. The Kali-yuga-dharma is propogated in *every* Kali-yuga directly by the dark-colored yuga avatara named Krishna, with the exception of this one (Laghu bhagavatamrta). All the shastric references such as Srimad Bhagavatam, puranas, and the Kalisantarana Upanisad which specify the Kali yuga dharma never present the holy names as an exceptional path for this particular Kali age, but rather as the general rule for Kali-yuga. Therefore, the yuga dharma of other Kali-yugas is apparently nama sankirtana of Visnu-tattvas as well, and is presumably taught by the dark colored avatara named Krishna or His representatives. Payonidhi> Only Lord Caitanya can establsh the sankirtana movement, avatars like Lord Narasimhadeva may provide protection, but besides this what role the other incarnations play it is not mentioned anywhere. Nayanaranjana> In continuation of such a statement, one may come to an offensive conclusion (which someone has really come to) that Prabhupada is a servant of Mahavisnu and not Lord Caitanya because he preached nama-sankirtana & not raganuga bhakti to the general people. The speciality of Srila Prabhupada's mission, as opposed to the same yuga-dharma of other Kali-yugas, is that the holy names are revealed as being essentially Lord Chaitanya Himself (not only Sri Vishnu), as well as the primary means to the realization of the nature of Lord Chaitanya and Sri Sri Radha and Krishna. In other words, sankirtana of names of Visnu (Hare Krishna, Vishnu sahasranama) as practiced at other times can be seen as leading to Vishnu realization and as being under His jurisdication, while the sankirtana of those very same mantras (Hare Krishna, and the Vishnu sahasranama which names Lord Chaitanya) as taught by Lord Chaitanya's followers as revealing all Gaudiya truths and as being under Lord Chaitanya's own personal jurisdication. So the above statement is consistent with the idea the general Kali-yuga dharma. To deny harinama in other Kaliyugas is to deny the importance of the dark colored yuga avatara named Krishna. And to accept it does not diminish the greatness of Srila Prabhupada or of the holy names of Svayam Bhagavan. Any thoughts on this? ys Gerald Surya
