Guest guest
PAMHO. AGTSP. This stone-cutter story is very similar to one Chinese joke called "Praising the Cat." Once upon a time there was a rich man who had a cat which he was very fond of. The servants of the rich man, in order to please him, were glorifying this cat. Servants: "Your cat is second to none. The best in the world." Rich man: "That is why I call it 'tiger cat.'" Servant 1: "The tiger is on the ground; the dragon is in the sky. Why not call it 'dragon cat?'" Servant 2: "Clouds can float up the dragon. Call it 'cloud cat.'" Servant 3: "Clouds are scattered by the wind. It's better to call it 'wind cat.'" Servant 4: "A wall can block off the wind. I think 'wall cat' is more appropriate." Servant 5: "A rat can make a hole in the wall. 'Rat cat' is the best." Servant 6: "A cat catches rats; it should be called ... er ... a cat, of course!" Rich man: "POOOEE!" (Spits at his servants.) Ys, Thakura-seva dasa
