Without intending any undue respect to Prabhodhananda Sarasvati Thakura, I am of the opinion that comments like this are best kept to ourselves, or in other words, that they should not be repeated amongst the lay public. It is highly offensive to distinguish between the various avataaras of the Lord or Their pastimes. We need to be mindful of the fact that the Thakura is very likely of a very advanced disposition, and we probably cannot appreciate his devotional mood or the reasons why he would make statements like this. But we certainly should not make such distinctious, and we certainly should not repeat them to outsiders. It is unfortunate that there are devotees in our movement who take every opportunity to preach the "difference" between Krishna, Gauranga and other forms of Vishnu. Even worse is the unfortunate misconception other Vaishnavas have developed as a result; I have met more than one who thinks that Gaudiya Vaishnavas place Krishna above Vishnu. Needless to say, that isn't the kind of sentiment that is likely to earn the respect of our fellow Vaishnavas. I offer this only out of concern. I apologize if I have committed any offense. yours, Krishna p.s. I personally find the destruction of Raavana by Lord Raama and the slaying of Hiranyakashipu by Lord Narasimha to be thrilling to hear.
