As for the higher rasas, Srila Prabhupada says that > the pure devotee can never forget Krsna, and you cannot argue with that. > I have heard of this explanation before, but it still does not answer my question which is this: how can these accounts of "fall" be reconciled with Baladeva and Vyaasa's "anaadi karma" argument from Vedaanta-Suutra? I mean, I don't mean to be inconvenient or anything, but there is a whole body of evidence there which still has not been addressed. Also, I would like to know where exactly is the shaastric evidence substantiating this idea that the jiivas were originally in shanta-rasa, and then fell into the material world. > > Btw: all of you, participating in the discussion, have you read "Our > > Original Position"? But now I can say that in fact > the book does not establish anything but rather creates more confusion. Admittedly, the book has some problems which OOP loyalists are reluctant to acknowledge. There is the problem of its quoting Ramanuja out of context (much to the chagrin of some Sri Vaishnavas I know), and also of its attempt to explain the "anaadi karma" point as being a reference to either material or spiritual activity - which does not make sense when you actually look at the context in VS. I don't mean to create any offense by this either. I'm only pointing out that just being referred to OOP isn't likely to clarify much. And I do get the impression that those who insist that we turn to OOP for all the answers don't really understand the issues presented therein either, but choose to assume that everyone else will after looking at it. regards, Krishna p.s. I hope you all had a wonderful Janmaashtami. I don't know where I came from, but I sure know where I want to go next Janmaashtami Mahotsava....
