We see arguments cast back and forth, both sides presenting seemingly something we can't get around. I have no position, nor a desire, to comment on Srila Bhaktisiddhanta. >>Yes, I have, prabhu. I have even translated this book into Russian three >>years ago at the request of my former guru. But now I can say that in fact >>the book does not establish anything but rather creates more confusion. So we have to establish our ultimate authority, otherwise this is senseless. Srila Prabhupada is the one through whom we are to see the previous acaryas, and his statements are to be the final authority for us. ghora dingiya ghasa khaoya "A jumping horse who tries at the same time to eat grass." Srila Prabhupada quoted this to illustrate how one cannot jump over the guru to reach Krishna. I suggest we stick to Srila Prabhupada's teachings as the final judgement for us. We horses cannot eat the grass of love of God, if we abandon the shelter of our siksa-guru, the ISKCON samsthapaka-acarya, who has delivered us the message of Lord Caitanyadeva. However fine our conclusions may be. ys, ekatma das.
