In the book "Om Shalom, Krishna Consciousness and Vaisnavism" Satyaraja Prabhu explains this. I do not have a copy at hand but from memory I recall that extends the word "sri" and means someone who is exalted because he is realized in terms of "lila" (the Lord's lila).
