Vraja Mandala Parikrama

Radha Kunda Parikrama

 

We started the Parikrama on an auspicious day of Bahulastami, the appearance

day of Radha Kunda.

Five thousands year ago, Krsna killed the demon Aristasura. That is the

reason why the village where Radha kund is situated was known as Aristagram.

By killing this bull which represented dharma, Krsna performed an

irreligious act, in order to get purified, He has to take bath in all the

holy rivers. If He is not pure Radharani and all the gopis did not want to

associate with Him, because He had became sinful due to the sin of killing a

bull. Krsna had no choice than to take bath, because without the gopis He

can not survive.

All the holy rivers personified came, from all over India, and told Krsna:

"There is no need to go for a bath, we have came here". Krsna make a hole

by kicking the earth with His lotus foot, all the holy river entered in that

hole, and He was able to take His bath.

 

The Lord said to Radharani, all the gopis are now sinful, because they just

accused Me of being sinful. Then Radharani said, 'I will make my own kund.'

 

Five hundreds years ago, Sri Krsna Caitanya came to this place. It was used

as farming land. It was Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu who discovered this place.

We know Radha Kund, by the grace of Mahaprabhu.

Raghunath Das Gosvami came from Jaganath Puri and he stayed here for 41

years. Sanatana Gosvami stayed here and he was doing Govardhana Parikrama

every day. Krsna Das Kaviraja Gosvami wrote Caitanya Caritamrta in Radha

Kunda. Janavi, the wife of Nityananda Prabhu, came here. Madhavendra Puri

did Parikrama here. Bhaktisidhanta Prabhupada was staying with his father

Bhaktivininoda Thakur in his bhajan kutir. Srila Prabhupada met with his

Guru Maharaja Bhaktisiddhanta Maharaja, on the bank of Radha Kunda. Sri

Bhaktisiddhantha Prabhupada gave the instruction, 'if you get money, print

books.'

H.H Lokanath Maharaja, was saying that this is the time to beg for mercy. We

know that you are wealthy, healthy, but we have to realize that we are very

poor. We have to do the begging and the praying, everywhere we go. Subhala

Swami was giving a class in Mayapur. He said that when we go to the holy

places we should pray. We shouldn't take it for granted and think that the

Lord is merciful, he will give me the mercy. We have to pray for the mercy."

Mahaprabhu is merciful, we have to break our head to get the mercy."
