Day 12 VMP Bulletin

---------------------------

Day 12

Friday 5 November 1999

Kamyavan interior Parikrama

Please forgive us for not sending daily bulletins because we are not there

everyday.

It is getting a litle bit cold in Vraja now as we enter into the Autumn

season. After getting a nice ginger tea, the party went through Kama, a

small city, to visit the temple of Vrinda Devi and Radha Govinda. In this

bulletin we will speak about the glories of Vrinda Devi.

500 years ago, when the Muslim Aurangazeb was preparing his armies to invade

Vrindavan and demolish the Radha Govinda Mandir, one Rajasthani king,

Maharaja Jai Singh, heard of this, and came secretly to Vrindavana, He

alerted the Brajabasis and Vaisnavas, who arranged to move the Dieties out

of Vraja Mandala to Jaipur for safety.

On the way they stopped at different places, such as Radha Kunda and finally

Kamyavan, which is right on the border of Vraja Mandala, Sri Vrndavana

Dhama. They made a sitting place for the Deities and then after some days,

when the party was preparing to resume their journey they found to their

amazement, that no one was able to move the Vrinda Devi Deity. Despite all

effort Vrinda Devi remained. Since she is the presiding deity of Vrindavana,

she was not willing to leave Vraja Mandala. Threfore this Radha Govindaji

Mandir was established and Vrinda Devi resides here.

Vrinda Devi is one of the most and significant personality in the pastimes

of Radha and Krsna. She is the transcendental organizer of Radha-Krsna's

pastimes. Vrinda Devi arranges everything for Radha-Krsna's pleasure.

Flowers, creepers, vines and trees are under her supervision. All the birds

and all variety of animals carry out her orders. She is acting as the temple

commander. Flying here and there, her parrot disciples deliver messages of

warning or unforseen events. When Radha and Krsna meet, she provides

beverages, garlands, ornaments and flower decorations.

Vrindavan is famous all over the universe, all over the cosmos. Vrinda Devi

is named after Vridavana Dhama, because she looks after Vrndavana . She keep

the forest of Vrndavan fresh and clean, Vrinda Devi is as dear to Krsna as

Radharani.

We have come here as a beggar. Vrinda Devi is in charge of giving services

to everyone in Vrindavana, First we have to approach our spiritual master,

the parampara, the acaryas. We are servants, and what we need is the service

of Krsna, not more, not less. Vrinda Devi is engaging millions and billions

of gopis in the service of Radha-Krsna, all the coordination is made by

Vrinda Devi. We have to think about Vrinda Devi, read about Vrinda Devi and

meditate about Vrinda Devi. Srila Prabupada introduced Tulasi arati. Tulasi

is non-different from Vrinda Devi, who appears in this material world in the

form of plant.

Sri Vrinda Devi Ki Jai.
