Kapoor critically discussed and reviewed all these different versions of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu's disappearance in his book "The Philosophy and Religion of Sri Caitanya" from a devotional point of view. Couldn't He? >YS, Kusha mata According to Puri folklore, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu disappeared in 3 places simultaneously. 1. He merged into the Deity of Lord Jagannath 2. He merged into the Deity of Tota Goipinath 3. He merged into the Bay of Bengal. Prabhupada told us that none of the scriptures describing the life of Sri Chaitanya deals with His disappearance lila because it is not something devotees like to think about.
