And also the curse of the great devotees is actually a way to give their causeless mercy on others who are not qualified to accept the mercy in any other manner. Like Narada cursed Nalakuvara & Manigriva to appear as trees in the courtyard of Nanda Maharaja. There are hundreds of other examples in the Puranas.
