I think the attitude in which you are finding fault is THE thing. If you are

finding fault to deliberately belittle someone or with envy, malice,

prejudice etc. then it is called destructive criticism.

 

If the guru or the authority is finding fault in the disciple to train him

up and make him more & more perfect then that can be called constructive

criticism.
