"In the Padma Puräëa there is the story of a neophyte devotee who, in order to raise herself to the ecstatic platform, danced all night to invoke the Lord’s grace upon her." NOD Sometimes the ecstasy spills over and kirtanas become wild (as described in Bhakti Ratnakara and by Bhaktivinoda Thakura in relation to namahatta preaching. What are those refs?
