Catur-vyuha and Maha Visnu

All glories to Srila Prabhupada and all other Vaisnavas!

All glories to Sri Sri Gaura-Nitai and Sri Sri Radha-Govinda!

 

In SB 3.1.34 purport we read: "Aniruddha is also the cause of

Maha-Visnu, from whose breathing the Rg Veda appeared."

In CC Adi 5.41 purport we read: "From Vasudeva, who is the primary

expansion, come Sankarsana, Pradyumna and Aniruddha in that order."

In SB 1.3.23 purport: "Lord Sri Krsna is Vasudeva, and Baladeva is

Sankarsana."

In SB 1.5.37 purport: "According to Pancaratra, Narayana is the

primeval cause of all expansions of Godhead. These are Vasudeva, Sankarsana,

Pradyumna and Aniruddha. Vasudeva and Sankarsana are on the middle left and

right, Pradyumna is on the right of Sankarsana, and Aniruddha is on the left

of Vasudeva, and thus the four Deities are situated. They are known as the

four aides-de-camp of Lord Sri Krsna."

In SB 2.4.10 purport: "The expansions of different forms of the

Lord, as from Krsna to Baladeva to Sankarsana, from Sankarsana to Vasudeva,

from Vasudeva to Aniruddha, from Aniruddha to Pradyumna and then again to

second Sankarsana and from Him to the Narayana purusavataras, ..."

In CC Adi 2.56 purport: "For His pastimes, Lord Krsna has four

original manifestations-namely Vasudeva, Sankarsana, Pradyumna and

Aniruddha. The first purusa-avatara, Maha-Visnu in the Causal Ocean, who is

the creator of the aggregate material energy, is an expansion of Sankarsana;

the second purusa, Garbhodakasayi Visnu, is an expansion of Pradyumna; and

the third purusa, Ksirodakasayi Visnu, is an expansion of Aniruddha."

 

I am a little confused: I always thought that this sistem of

expanding into catur-vyuha looks like this:

1st expanding) Krsna÷Balarama

2nd expanding) Krsna÷Vasudeva & Balarama÷Sankarsana

3d expanding) Vasudeva÷Aniruddha & Sankarsana÷Pradyumna

But the above quoted passages (except for SB 1.5.37) do not say so. Has

anybody studied this issue? Could we have a final picture of the process of

expanding into catur-vyuha.

Also Maha Visnu, in the first quote Aniruddha is His cause, in the

last quote it is Sankarsana. Hm??? I would very much appreciate any

conclusive comment on this point, too.
