Guest guest
the rule for the limit on breaking the fast is that it should be done before one quarter of the dvadasi has passed. this will be very shortly after the sunrise in some rare cases, perhaps a few moments. If it occurred before the sunrise, then the previous day probably would not be observed as ekasasi but as dvadasi, because other rules would apply. since the ekadasi fast should be broken only after bathing and dressing in fresh cloths, nanda maharaja had to bathe in the river while it was still dark, which is not proper.
