There is no other way to always think of Krishna in the Kali-yuga except

chanting His Holy Names:

param srimat padambhoja

sada sangaty apeksaya

nama-sankirtana-prayam

O Gopa Kumara! If you desire to have eternal association of the lotus feet

of the Lord then you should continuously perform the chanting of the Holy

Name of the Lord which is considered as the purest form of all devotional

service.

 

(Brhad-bhagavatamrta 2.3.144)

 

> You can't force yourself to chant for eternity...

 

You have to keep on forcing yourself to chant till you get the taste. There

is no other way. By regular adherence to the brhad-vrata (maha-yagna) of

chanting a fixed no. of Holy Names, the taste will surely awaken.

 

sankhya-nama-sankirtana-ei maha-yajna manye

tahate diksita ami ha-i prati-dine

 

I have been initiated into a vow to perform a great sacrifice by chanting

the holy name a certain number of times every day. (Cc Antya 3.240, Thakura

Haridasa to Maydevi)

 

namaparadha-yuktanam

namany eva haranty agham

avisranti-prayuktani

tany evartha-karani ca

 

Even if in the beginning one chants the Hare Krsna mantra with offenses, one

will become free from such offenses by chanting again and again. Papa-ksayas

ca bhavati smaratam tam ahar-nisam: one becomes free from all sinful

reactions if one chants day and night, following the recommendation of Sri

Caitanya Mahaprabhu. (6.3.24 purp)

 

bhumau skhalita padanam

bhumirevavalambanam

tvayi jataparadhanam

tvameva saranam prabho

 

If one slips and falls down while walking on the ground then to get up one

has to take support from the ground itself. Similarly the offenses against

the Holy Names can be removed by taking continuous shelter of Name.

 

This is the verse previous to verse quoted above in the Padma Purana.
