Guest guest
According to the Padma Purana, eating of grains on Ekadashi is equal to eating the cumulation of all the sins (papapurusha) commited by all the living entities in the universe. Thus the sin of meat-eating, gambling, intoxication etc. is nothing compared to it. Shrila Prabhupada mentions in Cc Adi 15.9 purp: "In the Bhakti-sandarbha, by Srila Jiva Gosvami, there is a quotation from the Skanda Purana admonishing that a person who eats grains on Ekadasi becomes a murderer of his mother, father, brother and spiritual master, and even if he is elevated to a Vaikuntha planet, he falls down." So while mentioning the four regulative principles, if one adds in one's personal preaching that fasting from grains on Ekadashi is also to be avoided at all costs and is to be followed as strictly as the four regulative principles, I don't think one can be accused in this regard.
