He tried to have Krishna >arrested in the court of Hastinapura during peace negotiations. Since he learned from Balarama how to fight, and that Balarama always took his side, to the extend He didn't want to help the Pandavas in the war, maybe there is something there. There are a lot of characters in Krishna book also that were demons, they represent different anarthas. I don't know if Duryodhana falls in the same category, but last time I checked you have to be quite somebody to play such important part in Krishna's pastimes. Look at Radheya, Duryodhana's best friend. He's the oldest pandava, son of Kunti and Surya. The rasa between him and Krishna seems pretty clear throughout Mahabharata. Maybe, just maybe, the whole thing with Duryodhana falls in the category of pastimes, which make their relationships appear differently here then in the eternal abodes? ys, Subhadra-mayi
