Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. I am no expert in the subject, but it appears to me that the external path of worship (bahihi pantha) according to the rasa, entrusted to Vakresvara Pandit by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, is raganuga sadhana bhakti. It is described thoroughly by Dhyanacand Goswami in his Paddhati and is based on the ekadasha bhava, or meditation on the eleven distinct features of one's spiritual identity in Sri Goloka Dham. It involves arcana or external worship of one's diksa guru, previous acaryas, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and His associatiates, Sri Radha-Krsna and Their nitya-parsadas in a way corresponding to the bhava one aspires to develop. Sri Dhyanacand Goswami is a disciple of Sri Gopal Guru Goswami, who in his turn is a disciple of Sri Vakresvara Pandit. Before the raganuga-sadhana practice used to be given in our Gaudiya line even to those who were not on the platform of spontaneous attachment (raga) to their particular relations with Krsna, a bona fide practice which was called by Srila Jiva Goswami and Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakur ajata-rati (ruci) raganuga-sadhana. Later on Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur, in view of the degraded position of modern people, considerably downplayed the importance of such practice and replaced it as a major anga of sadhana with nama-sankirtana.
