mission of Saraswati Thakur

The translation of an excerpt from Srila B.Pradip Tritha Maharaja's

memoirs:

 

"...after we came to Calcutta with Thakur (Bhaktivinod), one day he

called Sri Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Prabhu and entrusted him with

all responsibility of conducting my upanayan-samskar. By the order of

Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur Sri Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Prabhu

consecrated me with upanayan-samskar according to the rules of

Sat-kriya-sara-dipika written by Srila Gopal Bhatta Goswami Prabhu, and

together with that has given me Brahma Gayatri, Guru-Gayatri and

Gauranga-Gayatri. My classmates and Godbrothers Sriyukta Vasanta Babu

and Manmatha Babu were both consecrated by Om Vishnupad Sri Sri

Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Prabhu previously also by the order of Thakur.

Many times I was told by Om Vishnupad Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur that "Sri

Siddhanta Saraswati Prabhu has come to this Earth to establish

Daiva-Varnashrama-dharmma and Shuddha-Vaishnava Samaj in order to preach

Shuddha Nam. He is charged with these two missions by Gaurasundar

Himself." At that time I could not fully comprehend these words of Srila

Thakur. I have read Sri Chaitanya-Shikshamrita many times, many times

heard of Daiva-Varnashrama-dharma from the holy lips of Thakur, but

could not properly understand its significance. Only much later when I

saw my Master's instructions being reflected by the acharamaya

Prachara-Lila of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Prabhu, the teaching of

Sri Chaitanya-shikshamrita Shastra fully monopolized my heart."
