Guest guest
Dear Sita Mataji, PAMHO AGTSP ->the wife of a brahmana, then she is called brahmani, but she's not offered ->brahminical culture. She remains as sudra. So therefore a strict brahmana In ISKCON Prabhupada have made a system where he gave all privileges and status of brahmana to a lady devotees who follow his instructions. Is some prohindu or BJP people don't like it what can be done? But even in India there are brahminis who have a sacred tread (unlike the Prabhupadas system in ISKCON). ->Because in India, according to the caste system, or varnasrama-dharma, the ->brahmana and ksatriyas are considered to be the highest in the society, ->and the vaisyas, a little less than them, and sudras, they are not taken ->into account. In the similarly, woman class, they are taken as sudra, I hope this and other quotes of this type that talk about mundane VA will never be applied in ISKCON. As if by birth/body one can be discriminated. I'm trying to expose the idea (false) of that most (all) of the population are sudras therefore most of the devotees are sudras. Also because one is black (or you didn't pass his 'sudra test') you should seat on the back of the bus. Even when talking about ksatriyas in ISKCON he would say 'Let him remain a ksatriya' implying that there is a progress of the different varnas. "Like filling a glass." - said Madhava Ghosh Prabhu. ->And who are ordinary class of men? Now, stri-sudra-dvija-bandhu. Stri, ->woman class, are taken as less intelligent. It is not partiality; it is And ones who took to KC are most intelligent. Again mundane VA quote. Srila Prabhupada in his book write: Teachings of Queen Kunti: ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Women, sudras, and vaisyas are ordinarily regarded as less intelligent, but if one takes to Krsna consciousness one is the most intelligent, as stated in the Caitanya-caritamrta krsna yei bhaje sei bada catura. And Caitanya Mahaprabhu says: ei rupe brahmanda bhramite kona bhagyavan jiva guru-krsna-prasade paya bhakti-lata-bija " Among all the living entities wandering throughout the universe, one who is very fortunate receives, by the mercy of the spiritual master and the mercy of Krsna, the seed of devotional service." (Cc. Madhya 19.151) The Krsna consciousness movement does not consist of wretched, unfortunate men. No. It consists of the most fortunate. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ One who has taken to Krsna consciousness is to be considered the most fortunate because he has found the way to act so that his life will be perfect. One who is Krsna conscious and discharging his duties nicely is the most fortunate and the most perfect. This is humbly stated here by Kuntidevi. ------ ->Striyah sudrAs tatha vaisyah, including woman and sudras and vaisyas, they ->are considered as less intelligent. They are considered as less ->intelligent. Therefore, according to Vedic system, a boy born in a If someone whom some untrained and uneducated ksatriya will designate as a sudra/vaisya/woman (on the basis of the employment, type of body, tests, mistake, misinterpretation of Prabhupada etc) will read this passage from Conversations what he should think? ->Philadelphia, July 11, 1975 -> ->Artificially, to make man and woman equal, that may be artificially your ->sentiment, but actually it is not the fact. In the same way vaisyas and ksatriyas are not equal. However some devotees who think themself to be 'ksatriyas' are actually vaisyas (it is becoming a very common mistake). ->Prabhupäda: My opinion is already there according to the... They should be ->chaste, faithful to husband. Little literary knowledge, they can read. ->That's all. Not very much. It look like most of Western girls don't like this 'opinion' of our spiritual master. However this is a quote that talks specifically about devotees (unlike other quotes brought up by you) and therefor important. Other example of clear social instructions of Prabhupada is his 'no divorce' policy. Some of the devotees think that divorces should be allowed in ISKCON disregarding Prabhupadas instructions. It look like it is kind of fashion to take references from Prabhupada that are supporting something that is comfortable to ones management and reject without consideration ones that are not. Or to pick up the quotes that support ones social ideas and don't pay attention to other. Prabhupadas books ARE the law books, but not in that silly 'lawyer' sense.
