When I spoke with HKM the week before the EC issued > the suspension, he was already quite prepared to leave ISKCON and go off > on his own if his new ideas were not acceptable. What perplexes me is that in ISKCON there appears to be a continous stream of devotees, who first are highly glorified for their actions and devotion, and then after some time gets highly criticised as beeing offenders and all their actions suddenly are poison instead of nectar. After some time it gets hard to keep track on which devotee is still bonafide, and which devotee who is not bona fide. I am also perplexed that it appears that those who have rised to the top, when they are down again, suddenly there are many devotees who bring up all kind of happenings from the past, and sometimes even claim that they knew all the time that this particular person was just a pretender, or whatever. The truth is the truth is the truth. But it is quite hard, sometimes, to keep track of the truth in the ISKCON movement, because it is so variable. Even Srila Prabhupada's words, which are claimed to be the definition of truth, are nowadays interpreted to sometimes mean two opposite things.
