Guest guest
For your files "Avoiding a VAD cult movement" Part -3- ***** Divine aphorisms by His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada ****** Here you find more aphorisms and extended quotes by HDG Srila Prabhupada on the topic of VAD. Warnings not to get too carried away by bodily designations like varnas or make a cult of VAD by identifying proudly as a so-called ksatriya, social reformer, varnasrama avatara, the VAD incarnation for the new age etc etc. ( Prabhupada Lecture Srimad-Bhagavatam 1976 108-844-173814 ) " There are two classes of men, krpana and brahmana. The opposite word of brahmana is krpana. Brahmajanat iti brahmana. This life, human life is meant for understanding brahman, the absolute truth. So, a person who has understood what is brahman, aham brahmasmi, he is called brahmana. Anyone who understands Brahman, he is brahmana. Brhmajanat iti brahmana. And one who does not understand, he is krpana. In the Upanisad also it is said : Etad viditva yah prayati sa brahmana. Etad aviditva yah prayati sa kripanah. This human life is meant for understanding Brahman. Athato brahma jijnasa. Vedanta. Simply meant for understanding Brahman. Such a nice life. Human life, no cats and dog s life. And everywhere the same thing is repeatedly said. Rsabdeva says Nayam deho deha bhajan nrloke kasthan kaman arhate vid bhujam ye. This human life is not meant for acting like the pigs. Kasthan Kaman arhati. So it is meant for becoming a brahmana. And one who does not become a brahmana : Become a pig ! He is krpana. Krpana. Krpana mens he got the chance of becoming a brahmana, but he remained a cat and dog and pig. That s all - krpana. " ( Prabhupada Lecture Srimad-Bhagavatam 1976 110542-173814 ) " Gopi bhartu pada kamalayor dasa dasa anudasah. So, to endeavour to become gopi, that is also Mayavadi. That I shall become gopis. No, you have to become the servant of the servant of the servant of gopis. Otherwise, the same ahankara. Ahankara vimudhatma kartaham iti manyate. Then again we will be misled. This is material disease. Everyone is full of some ahankara. " I am this. I am this. I am brahmana, I am a sannyasi. I am Lord, I am this," so many things. So long this mentality will continue, then that is maya. Ahankara vimudhatma kartaham iti manyate. Actuall he is not that position. Therefore Caitanya Mahaprabhu teaches from the very beginning Jivera svarupa haya nitya krsna dasa. Unless you come to that point "I am eternal servant of Krishna ". That is real knowledge. " ( Prabhupada Lecture NOD 1972 113999- 173814 ) " Everything should unite as servant of Krishna. That is Bhakti marga. Unfortunately they distinguish between American Vaisnava and Indian Vaisnava, -brahmana Vaisnava, -sudra Vaisnava. No. A Vaisnava is Vaisnava. Visnur asya devata iti vaisnava. One who has accepted Visnu as my Lord, he has no designation. A Vaisnava has no such distinction. Sarvopadi vinirmuktam . So is the sutra given by Narada. Tad tenaiva vinirdiset. So we must follow the path of Mahajana, the instruction of the acarya. " ( From : On the way to Krishna Chapter 2 ) " The dharma of the living entity is to serve and we can easily see that the he has the tendency to serve himself or others. How to serve Krishna, how to disentangle ourselves fom materialistic service. How to attain Krsna consciousness and become free from material designations is all taught as a science by Sri Krsna in Bhagavad-gita. " ( From : Teachings of Queen Kunti Chapter 24 ) "The most essential education is that which enables one to become free from the bodily concept of life but unfortunately scientists, philosophers, politicians and other so called leaders are misleading bpeople so that they become more attached to the body. There is a human life that offers the opportunity to become Krsna conscious. These rascals are stopping the opportunity by alluring people to bodily designations and therefore they are the greatest enemies of modern civilization.
