Guest guest
More news from Nikhila s library of soothsayer celebrities "Waiting for doomsday " 3. Nostradamus French born Nostradamus made a number of predictions about 450 years ago in his book known a "centuries". In his 1166 verses Nostradamus only very rarely mentions openly a precise date. In verse 10/72 he mentions however : "Year 19 hundred 99 in the seventh month / from the sky will descend the king of terror / reawakened the great king of Angoulmois /Before. after Mars. Governing at good time." This could mean almost anything, some interprete it as a huge war, for whatever reasons. Mars stands often for war in astrology. Of course this prediction fits nicely into the current trends toward doomsday predictions for the end of the millenium. But : Who I beg to know is the " great king of Angoulmois ? " The last know king of a similar name would be king Franz I (1494 - 1547 ). He was known as the duke of Angouleme ( somewhat similar). That of course was 500 years earlier than the mentioned date. Of course one can play a little bit with the numbers as the interpreters of Nostradamus verses usually do, but hardly anyone got very far with this either. In other words no one knows for sure, so not really much of a prediction. Already the Nostra enthusiasts have offered altenative doomsdays for the case that it does not work out in 1999 : 2002, 2029 and 2040 were mentioned - as long as it means the end of the world. Examining the vast majority of other so-called Nostradamus predictions : The fact is that practically all of those "perfectly fitting predictions" for which Nostra is famous have ben read from his texts - after- the events happened, thanks to daring interpretations and adventorous shiftings of numbers and dates. Or just simple tricks. One example : In verse 3/77 Nostra writes : "The king of Persia caught in Egypt, year 1727..." After the death of Shah Reza pahlevi on 7th of 7 in 1980 the Nostra followers pondered over this verse and arrived at this soultion : If one takes away the first digit, the number 727 remains. Placing a dot behind the first 7 one arrives at 7.27 Now we turn around the whole thing to the reverse and what do we see ? 27. 7 ! That is how "predictions" come true. Mostly it is of course not that easy, with the predictions because "truths" can change in the course of time. One verse which a hundred years ago was seen as referring to Napoleon is now mostly interpreted as referring to Hitler : " In the depths of the West of Europe a child is born to poor parents. He will delude the troops with his tongue. His noise will grow in the abodes of the East". Interestingly, according to Christian mystics the month of January in 1998 has traditionally been consideed to be the doomsday date for centureis. Obviously no one wants to remember that one anymore. But in fact very early numerological mystics decided on the year 1998. The basis of their calculations was usually the 37 years of the life of Jesus. ( that his exact life span and birth year is not known did not seem to matter ). It went like this : 37 years x 54 weeks per year equals 1998. So jesus died in the 1998th wek of is life. One "proof" for the correctness of this calculation went like this : The cross sum of 1998 is 27 and 2 + 7 = 9. Dividing 1998 through 9 one attains the mystical number 222. This again used to be closely connected to the angels who sort out the chaos on God s order. This again gets us right into John s revelation in the gospel, which gives detailled description of the battle against the big animal, known as anti-Christ. John asks the reader (13,18) : "One who has any reason should calculate the numerical value of the animal... his number is 666. The mystics calculated and calculated and - became excstatic : 666 + 666 + 666 = 1998 ! An obvious thing, right at this time doomsday is happening, only nobody participates. What a shame.
