On fundamentalism

I recall hearing the Reagan send Khomeini a Bible and two Colt six-shooters as

a gesture of friendship when he began negotiations to release various hostages

held by the Iranians.

 

Still, Khomeini's attitude toward people in general is not something that

reminds me of the Six Goswamis. He was also an expert and very ambitious

political figure.

 

Similarly, Sadam Hussein also captures the imagination of many Middle

Easterners for his in your face attitude towards the West. Certainly, the West

is not innocent or undeserving of such tribulations.
