Guest guest
> Srila Prabhupada's system is that women on sankirtan, even "unmarried > girls (no father, no husband, no sons)", are accompanied by the grhastha > men, not that they are sent out on the streets alone. This is Srila > Prabhupada's merciful way of giving some engagement to the female > devotees. First, what business does grihasthas have to deal with women they are not married to? I have seen many such instances, and it invariably ends up with the grihastha beeing an ersatz husband to the brahmacarins, or even married women. Second, if you think the women are not sent out alone, you probably have not had any contact with the sankirtan tactics. The women are sent out alone, with the "protecting" grihastha most of the time doing "management", from his office in the temple. Third, when the women are worn out physically and psychologically from the distribution, they are just considered "maya" cases, and just showed aside as useless, and finally thrown out of the temple. Especially if they managed to do the "sin" of finding themselves a husband. Often it takes years for such used women to recover and become "normal" women again. I have seen more than one of those abused cases, and what happens with them after sankirtan is finished.
