Guest guest
>So is the allegation that you passed out condoms while you were in India >and were paid to do so false? Yes, that is false. Who said so? You don't seem to realize what my job is - it is far, far from condom distribution. I have not even *seen* anyone hand out a condom in India, although I know it happens at the hospital and red light clinics where I was a consultant scientist (helping with research design, subject tracing procedures, adherence to scientific protocol methods, supervising questionnaire administration, focus groups, and qualititative interviews) >And is the rumour that you were paid to >consult people on 'family planning' false? I don't even know what this means, but if you are saying that I provided "family planning" advice to anyone, yes that is definitely false. I'm not a family planning counselor. I'm a research psychologist. There is a huge difference. >Also, is suggesting the >disease-reducing benefits of condoms and sometimes handing them to people >part of the job of the staff you work with? One last time: I don't teach in the community and I don't do outreach work or counseling. The only teaching I do is of university students and postdoctoral fellows, and it's pretty dry and theoretical, mostly covering questionnaire development, research design, theories of behavior change and of predicting behaviors, statistical methods etc. Yes, there are other people in the community who do those things. They are not on my staff, but I do interact with them at times since part of what I do involves evaluating community efforts to prevent HIV transmission. I hope I have now answered all your questions about my job. I still don't understand why you are so obsessed with it, but I've done my best to explain in 3 separate posts. If that does not satisfy you, I don't think I can be of further service. >PS- I don't know how it happened but I made a mistake >when I wrote Jatukarnya Prabhu that "We are not planning on doing nothing >to Madhusudani." I thought I had written "We are not planning on doing >anything" to you. Honest mistake. OK, I accept that. My apologies to all the members of these conferences who have had to read the less than exciting details about my profession. I'm sorry to have added to your phone bills. MRdd>Yes, that is false. Thank you for setting that straight. I am sorry if you find my directness disturbing. I'm really just wanting to clear any doubts, not just for my sake but because several others on COM have them too. You know, you're real good at answering some of my questions, even though I had to wait for months for the answers. >Who said so? Someone who is probably an enemy of yours. Thanks again and sorry you do not consider me your friend. Ys, Sdd
