During Clinton's State of the Union speach, when he mentioned the Y2K issue, a

ripple of laughter seemed to roll through Congress. Clinton had to make an off

the cuff joke about it in order to not look foolish.

 

Personally, I am not so convinced either way, but it doesn't hurt to be

prepared for general emergencies.
