My dear Jennifer,

Please accept my greetings. I am in due receipt of your letter dated

June 6, 1975 and have noted the contents. First of all, you decide

whether you are female or male, then be one or the other. Then, you may

enter our temple any time you like. But sometimes man and sometimes

woman, that is not proper. Such awkward thing cannot be allowed. It will

be disturbing to others. Anyway, continue to chant Hare Krishna as much

as possible.

I hope this meets you in good health.

Your ever well-wisher,

A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami

ACBS/ps

> Yes, but when the doctor said, "it's a girl!" how did he know this? Doctors

>have been saying, "its a boy!" or "its a girl!" for millions of years. I doubt

>in over a billion births a doctor ever said, "its an in-between!".

>

More likely that the birth of hermaphrodites causes an uneasy silence in

the room. At least here in the west.

As usual Srila Prabhupada sums it all up so simply, succinctly, and

compassionately. I heard that he also said, in regard to some devotees

complaints about homosexuals in ISKCON, "this sex, that sex, it is all sex"

or something to that effect, basicaly saying that the distinctions of sexual

orientation are not important, all illicit sex is bad, and must be given up.

Its really that simple, and a very personal choice. Just work out the bodily

business, get settled, and begin the process of getting out of this

miserable world where such confusion occurs in the first place.

Srila Prabhupada ki JAI!

Do we really need to get into all the nitty gritty on this issue for much

longer? I didn't log on yesterday, and was greeted this morning with 90

texts! Needless to say I was overly generous with the delete key.

The demigods don't make mistakes and Krsna had a very good reason to create

males and females.

Maybe the idea of demigod mistakes isn't a mistake at all. Krsna fulfills all

desires, not just 'black and white' ones.
