Just because the diksa issue has been blown all out of proportion by both sides of the diksa/rittvik argument, it is still a detail of organised brahminical life which is part of VAD. After all, the diksa initiation has very practical ramifications, such as level s of Deity worship allowed, types of sacrifices that can be performed, etc., all of which are needed social details. We can see that emphasizing diksa over all else for the last 20 years hasn't been a successful approach to building a broad based and thriving social economic system, but it is still part of varna asrama. The relationship of the heart that is the true initiation as recognized by Radha may be transcendent to VAD, but when it comes down to formal initiation, that is simply a detail of brahminical culture.
