Who was it, Bhaktisiddhanta, who tore off his brahmana thread, broke it and threw it away? I think someone also broke a tridanda and threw it away? Brahmana threads are great in an ideal Vedic situation but they serve only to strangle those who think they are garlands of "advancement". The greatest disservice to the world has been done by those in ISKCON who have sown the seeds of doubt and fear in the minds of aspiring and existing devotees of Lord Krsna that Srila Prabhupada is somehow questioned as to his accessibility as bonafide spiritual master because of his "physical absence". There is absolutely no question in my heart that anyone's link to the parampara, leading all the way back through 31 bonafide acaryas to Lord Krsna Himself, is firmly established through submissive aural reception OR READING Srila Prabhupada's books. That is why Krsna sent Srila Prabhupada to this planet(or one of the main reasons, in my opinion). I think that's why he had us distribute millions and millions of them? IF, IF, IF diksa has to take place in some formal, bodily, physical manner, other than a transcendental (invisible) relationship with Srila Prabhupada, I am sure Krsna will take of things for the sincere soul. By the way, at what point did Arjuna receive diksa? And, if one obtains diksa initiation, does this mean that he will return to the spiritual world at the end of this life? And, if not, then how do we know if someone received diksa in their last life but has not finished their purification? Or does one have to start all over again after each birth (doubtful). yfs, Jd
