I think the motive of the GBC is good: protect devotees from bogus gurus.

But--- this method hasn't worked too well. Unfortunately, the current method

tries to protect by using bureacratic as a substitute for careful training of

bhaktas.

 

We need some bureaucracy. But a better method would be to reduce the

bureaucracy and increase the training -- or "consumer education" as Madhusudani

prabhu calls it.
