This is exactly what the program was for thousands of my godbrothers who were "sponsored" by each other and attracted to the temple where they became initiated without once meeting, talking to, receiving instruction from Prabhupada "personally/bodily/directly". When someone asked if they could meet Srila Prabhupada personally they were told clearly and kindly that to serve the pure devotee by performing service in the temple according to his instructions as received from his tapes and books, read every morning and night, was EXACTLY the same as serving him personally.
