I have always felt it already was - by Srila Prabhupada. He should be the example for guru tattva siddhanta for all in ISKCON and all those wanting to be a member of ISKCON in the future. If another acarya is manifested he will have full authority to establish time and place guru tattva siddhanta. > If it is established should we follow it? Moot point in my opinion. It IS established, we aren't "seeing" it because we think that Srila Prabhupada is Dead and Gone. > Should we consider all of Srila Prabhupadas instructions in his books etc, > or only some of them? A true guru will teach disciples in accordance with their respective psychophysical situation as the result of their inherited guna and karma. Varnasrama-dharma. Their needs to be ISKCON gurus who have divided themselves according to the four divisions of varnasrama-dharma and teach their respective disciples accordingly. All of the instructions are there in Srila Prabhupada's books but some are applicable to a brahmana and some are applicable to the other varnas. A sudra must be trained spiritually and materially different than a brahmana. Same for ksatriyas and vaisyas. This has been the greatest error in ISKCON's so-called "guru tattva siddhanta". > I am not attached to this position or that, I only wish to see truth > established, and I feel it still needs to be done. Is there something wrong > with that? Great aspirations. The main difference between me and you (and a lot of others in ISKCON nowadays) is that I feel that the pure devotee guru is still accessible through his books and recordings. If some feel the need for the external ritual of Pancharatriki diksa that can be performed by the most qualified priests that we can find in our organization. But I do not feel that it is absolutley necessary in the Bhagavat tradition. And I think that is how Srila Prabhupada ran ISKCON when he was here. I apologize if our dialogue became overly antagonistic or at odds unnecessarily. I KNOW that you have all good intentions regarding the service of the Lord and Srila Prabhupada.
