Arjuna is a perfect example of this, I think? Did Sri Krsna teach Arjuna

everything and then tell him to give up his duty as a ksatriya? Just the

opposite I think. The Bhagavad-gita is excellent philosophy though not

accepted by some Vedantists as "high" philosophy. It is certainly high enough

for most ksatriyas to learn in order to protect their charges.

 

Other varnas have prescribed study curriculum also.
